I have so much to analyze, to brainstorm, to invent.

I’m in Mendoza, a perfect temperature night. The swollen summer heat has deflated into a dark coolness with an occasional warm breeze. I’m drinking Fernet and Cola, Chiki watches the cars pass on the street. We sit under palm trees bristling and flexing their sharp needle-wings.

I can feel the darkness as air in my lungs. I can see Chiki swimming in it, it’s completely her element. Her eyes are dark shiny moons, mirrors that disappear and reappear at will, circular phantoms reflecting headlights.

We are going to hitchhike to Córdoba because the nights are welcoming and no bus from Mendoza can carry a cat. We have sleeping bags but no tent. Compramos palta, queso, jamón y pan. Pienso que estamos preparados para una aventura completamente nueva y quiero ser positiva y llena de energía. Estoy emocionada, no puedo esperar, no puedo respirar!
